I tried to run my windows VM (which is installed through bootcamp). The VM fails to start up. So I upgraded to Parallels 13, however my VM still won't start. When macOS High Sierra was released around 25 th September, I tried to install it in Parallels Desktop Lite. However, both a clean install in a Parallels Virtual Machine (VM), nor an in-place update did not work (the High Sierra VM would refuse to boot). I discovered the High Sierra installer converts the VM file system to Apple File System. Windows will 'think' it's running on a real computer, when it is running inside an app. With virtual machines you run both macOS and Windows at the same time, which is handy if you want to open a single Windows program alongside your Mac applications. However, when you run a virtual machine, your computer's resources are split between the two operating systems, so everything may run slower than usual.
